Home Remodel in Leander, TX – A Small Home with Big Memories

This charming Leander home, built in 1950, may be modest in size, but it’s filled with decades of cherished family memories. From meals around the century-old dining table to treasured moments beside the china cabinets, this home has been the heart of the Brown family for generations.

When it was time to update the kitchen, bathrooms, and flooring throughout, the goal wasn’t just modernization—it was to honor the original character of the home while preserving the memories that make it special.

This remodel carefully blended new, durable, and stylish materials with the historical charm of the home. The original wainscoting, installed when the house was first built, was preserved and seamlessly integrated into the new design. It complements the 100-year-old dining table and china cabinets, keeping the soul of the home intact while providing a refreshed, functional space.

Kitchen Remodel

The kitchen received a fresh, bright upgrade featuring:

  • Designer White Shaker Cabinets for a timeless look

  • MSI Cashmere Taj Quartz countertops, adding warmth and subtle elegance

  • MSI Angora Herringbone polished marble backsplash, bringing texture and sophistication

Even with the new updates, the kitchen still feels connected to the past. The restored wainscoting and heirloom furniture work beautifully with the modern touches, creating a space that bridges generations.

Bathroom Remodel

The bathroom remodel was designed to create a bright, functional, and inviting space while keeping the home’s original charm intact. Though small in size, the bathroom now feels fresh and modern thanks to thoughtful updates and attention to detail.

We completely removed the old, outdated finishes and replaced the old backing, providing a clean, solid foundation for all new materials. This allowed the bathroom to feel fresh while preserving key elements that carry the home’s history.

The shower features MSI Kaya Calacatta Lucca porcelain tile, offering the beauty of marble without the upkeep. Its subtle veining adds elegance, while the polished finish helps reflect light, making the room feel brighter.

The original cabinetry was carefully preserved, maintaining the character and charm of the 1950 home. Neutral quartz countertops and modern fixtures were added to complement the existing cabinets, providing function and freshness without replacing these sentimental pieces.

Despite its size, the bathroom feels well-designed, organized, and welcoming. It’s a space where the family can enjoy comfort and convenience every day, while the original elements and memories remain intact.

We installed:

  • MSI Kaya Calacatta Lucca porcelain in the shower, offering a bright, marble-like look without high maintenance

The result is a refreshed and functional bathroom that still respects the home’s original charm.

Flooring Throughout the Home

To bring cohesion and durability to the entire house, the Browns selected:

  • MSI Prescott Chester Hills LVP flooring

This warm, natural wood–inspired flooring runs throughout the main areas, refreshing the home while still pairing beautifully with the preserved wainscoting and heirloom furniture.

The flooring update brought new life to every room while allowing the 1950 architectural elements and family keepsakes to remain the highlight.

A Remodel That Honors the Past and Welcomes the Future

This project was more than just a renovation—it was the continuation of a family legacy. The Browns now enjoy the comfort of a beautifully updated home without losing the memories that make this small home feel so grand.

Today, the house still feels like the one where everyone gathered around the dining table and admired the old china cabinet—but now with modern amenities, updated finishes, and renewed life.

A perfect balance of history, heart, and home.
